Full Time positions in:

  • Circuit 3 (Madison, Taylor, Lafayette, Dixie, Hamilton, and Columbia Counties) 

  • Circuit 8 (Levy, Gilchrist, Alachua, Bradford, Union, and Baker Counties)

 

PROGRAM NAME:

RescueWell: Supporting First Responders and Families

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The First Responder Peer Navigator provides outreach, training, strategic planning, and research to first responders and their families. The First Responder Peer Navigator conducts brief intervention, brief treatment, referral to treatment, care navigation and other resources as needed to reduce barriers to treatment. This individual will function as a liaison between individuals with mental health disorders and or substances abuse disorders, serve as a consumer advocate, providing consumer information and navigating those in outpatient and inpatient settings. The First Responder Peer Navigator will assist individuals in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own wellness and recovery process. Recovery resources such as booklets, tapes, pamphlets, and other written materials will be utilized by the First Responder Peer Navigator in the provision of services. The goal is to enhance access to information and referral supports, linkages to community services and follow up supports to mitigate the impact of traumatic stress and reduce the incidence of suicide or attempted suicide among first responders.

 

CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • Conduct an initial assessment and screening of each first responder and their family to determine their needs, using a standardized and agency approved assessment tool.

  • Refer individuals to behavioral health and community resources based on the needs identified in the initial assessment through a standardized process.

  • Conduct follow-up activities to support successful engagement, measure the quality assurance process, monitor the effectiveness of services through the administration of the consumer satisfaction survey and the Recovery Capital Assessment at specific points post referral.

  • Access and utilize a database of resources through the Information and Referral system.

  • Ability to assist individuals in working with their treatment team in determining steps needed to take to achieve goals and self-directed recovery.

  • Report progress towards objectives and provide performance data as required.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A valid Class E Drivers’ License for positions that require driving personal or agency vehicle on agency business.

  • Must maintain a minimum Bodily Injury & Property Liability insurance limit of at least $50,000 for positions that require driving personal own vehicle (POV) on agency business (proof of insurance is required).

  • Must be able to pass a Level II Background Screening.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Must have Intermediate to advanced experience in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), the use of personal computers, standard office productivity software, and various virtual meeting platforms.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience and other qualifications.

Starting Pay: $40,000 Annually (based on experience)

 

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: 40 hours, some nights and/or weekends

 

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)

  • Recovery Peer Specialist Certification (Preferred)
